According to The Elec, in 2023, China-based display producer BOE would supply LTPO OLED panels for the highest-end iPhone models.
BOE joined the list of screen suppliers for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 early this year, following unsuccessful attempts to supply screens for the iPhone 12 in 2020. Samsung manufactures Apple’s higher-end iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max screens, which require more advanced technology.
BOE, on the other hand, is planning to extend its production capacity of LTPO OLED screens with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, according to newly released information. In 2023, this screen is likely to be utilized in the iPhone 15 Pro.
BOE will continue to supply screens for iPhone 14 and 14 Max devices in the iPhone 14 series. LG and Samsung will supply the screens for the high-end iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max variants.
Apple is rumored to be considering a huge screen overhaul on the higher-end iPhone 14 models, including the removal of the notch, for the first time since the iPhone X. The notch is anticipated to be replaced by a perforated design by Apple.
