In May, Apple has launched Pride Edition bands for the Apple Watch in the past few years to commemorate Pride Month. In keeping with tradition, Apple unveiled two new Apple Watch Pride Edition bands with matching watch faces: the Pride Edition Sport Loop and the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop.
Apple has released two new Apple Watch Pride Edition bands
Apple says the Pride Edition Sport Loop is designed with a new technique that removes some of the double-layer nylon weave on the strap to reveal the word “pride,” written in a cursive style inspired by greetings” hello” first appeared on the Macintosh in 1984.
The Pride Edition Sport Loop features a gradient color scheme that incorporates colors from several pride flags, with light blue, pink, and white representing transgender and non-gendered persons, and black and brown representing Black and Latino groups. These colors also symbolise HIV/AIDS patients and those who have died from the disease.
The Nike Sport Loop Pride Edition, on the other hand, is designed in a rainbow of colors to honor LGBTQ+ individuals “who are spreading sport to future generations and motivating others to enjoy the thrill of being alone.”
Apple also revealed a rainbow-colored Nike Bounce watch face for the Nike Sport Loop Pride Edition, as well as a Pride Threads watch face for the Pride Edition Sport Loop, both of which were inspired by various pride flags and incorporate colors to “represent the strength and mutual support of the LGBTQ+ movement.”
Colorful threads on the Pride Threads watch face replicate the weaves on the Pride Edition Sport Loop, which move as you turn the Apple Watch’s digital crown, touch the screen, or elevate your wrist.
Both watch faces can be downloaded for free. They work with Apple Watch Series 4 and later models running watchOS 8.6 and iPhone 6s and later models running iOS 15.5.
The Nike Sport Loop Pride Edition and Pride Edition straps are $49. They come in sizes 41mm and 45mm. They’re already available for purchase on the Apple Store and the official Apple website. Starting May 26, the product will be available on the Apple Store. Nike.com will soon have the Nike Sport Loop Pride Edition available.
Apple also unveiled the new Shot on iPhone Pride Campaign, which will debut on @apple on Instagram next month, in addition to new Pride Edition bands and watch faces.
