iPhone 15 Pro will use high-tech screen “made in China”

Perhaps the iPhone 14 is poised to go into production at this moment. It's time for Apple fans to start thinking about the next generation — the iPhone 15 series. The most recent information pertains to the iPhone 15 Pro model's screen.

According to certain rumors, BOE, a Chinese display maker, will be Apple’s next LTPO screen partner in 2023. BOE is still manufacturing and selling, for those who are unaware. The iPhone 13 and 13 mini have a standard display with a 60Hz refresh rate.

iPhone 15 Pro Screen

Currently, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are two phone lines with LTPO screens, which allow the user to modify the scanning frequency constantly to fit their task, allowing the phone to preserve power without incurring device damage the power source.

Samsung and LG are the only companies who make this type of Apple screen right now. This will continue to be the case with this year’s iPhone 14, which means that neither the iPhone 14 nor the iPhone 14 small will have LTPO screens.

iPhone 15 Pro Screen

BOE is reportedly developing its 120Hz LTPO screen production technique in order to deliver the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max next year, according to The Elec. The addition of BOE to Apple’s list of high-tech display manufacturing partners is a move to diversify supply, allowing the company to become less reliant on Samsung while also obtaining a lower price.

According to figures from news site Gizmochina, Samsung will be Apple’s leading screen producer in 2020, with 78 percent of all OLED panels sold. Apple was compelled to hunt for more screen manufacturing partners as a result of the big quantity, and LG and BOE were the two names that were chosen.

iPhone 15 Pro Screen

Apple plans to build 169 million items in 2021, which translates to 169 million OLED panels. There are still 110 million Samsung panels, 50 million LG panels, and just 9 million BOE panels among the entire number of screens.

iPhone 15 Pro Screen

As previously said, having additional partners not only gives Apple more options, but it also gives the American technology corporation several negotiating benefits. At the same time, it reduces the possibility of a resource shortage in a difficult situation. This is what Apple has learned since the semiconductor catastrophe of 2021.
