Why isn’t Apple releasing a foldable iPhone right now?
Users have been wondering for the past two years when Apple will release a folding screen iPhone (usually leaked with the name iPhone Flip). Why hasn’t Apple made an attempt to break into this market yet? Tipster DylanDKT recently claimed that Apple is currently testing a few different designs. Apple, on the other hand, will not release a foldable iPhone for some years.
The reason for this is because Apple is still unsure about what people really want from a foldable phone. To put it another way, folding phones aren’t necessarily a long-term trend. Despite Samsung’s confirmation of a 400 percent increase in folding phone production over last year, Apple is still concerned that it will become obsolete shortly.
Apple is expected to unveil a foldable iPhone in 2023, according to other leakers. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in July that Apple would ship 15-20 million iPhone Flips in 2023. It will also be a foldable design, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold, rather than the Galaxy Z Flip. They will most certainly overtake Samsung, the inventor of the foldable phone, at that time. But that’s a story for another few years.
