Face ID on the iPhone, unlike on Android devices, is a complicated system with many modules and sensors. Apple’s next-generation iPhone, according to Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young, will use a solution similar to that used on the current iPhone.
ShrimpApplePro, who tweets under the name @VNchocoTaco, released a concept image of what the screen could look like from behind in September of last year. Young also believes that’s how the Pro models’ fronts will look, with a pill-shaped cutout in the center-left housing the front camera and infrared camera, and a circular hole housing the dot projector.
However, this also sounds strange. This design obviously takes up more screen space than the notch. Recently, there was another rumor about Apple putting Face ID hardware under the screen.
According to ShrimpApplePro, a well-known leaker, if Apple puts Face ID hardware under the screen, they will also put the camera under the screen. He predicts, however, that this will only happen in 2024, with the iPhone 15 generation.
If you’re an Apple devotee, however, don’t get too worked up about it. Although several Android devices have done so in the past, the under-display camera technology has yet to meet customer expectations. Perhaps this is why Apple is hesitant to use it in their products.
The iPhone 14 Pro’s screen will not be a mash-up of the Galaxy S10 Plus’s two punch-hole cameras and Huawei’s pill-shaped cutout. It will be unlike anything you’ve seen before, according to Young.
Four models are scheduled to be released in the iPhone 14 series: the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The current version’s 12MP main camera will be replaced with a 48MP main camera in Pro variants. This series will almost certainly come with a slightly more powerful A16 Bionic processor.
