If you have original AirPods, AirPods 2, AirPods 3, or AirPods Pro, you can sometimes have a problem where Airpod isn’t charging.
People have this problem all the time. It’s not only annoying, but it can stop you from making plans for the day. The good news is that most of the time, the problem can be fixed at home without having to call Apple or send back the AirPods. Try these tips.
Check Charging Case Battery Level
As a rule, the Charging Case is to blame when one AirPod stops charging, but not always. If its charge is less than 10%, then the case doesn’t have enough power to charge both AirPods.
The first thing you need to do is put your AirPods in your Charging Case. Then, close the lid. It’s time to get your iPhone in the case, so move it closer and open the lid. On the iPhone’s screen, you should see an AirPods card. It should show the charge level of both AirPods.
The Charging Case may have run out of battery, so now you know how to charge the case with a Lightning cable. If you don’t charge the Charging Case every day or every other day, it’s easy to forget. Then, use a tool like a periodontal brush to clean the inside of each AirPod bay in the Charging Case. If there is any stubborn dirt, take a Q-tip and wet it with water or spray it with isopropyl alcohol (DO NOT spray alcohol or water on the case). Then, work the Q-tip over the dirty area.
