The iPhone 16 Ultra will be the most expensive iPhone
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently shared a few possibilities for the iPhone 16 Ultra version. The iPhone 16 Ultra, in particular, will be Apple’s most expensive and feature-rich iPhone to date (compared to both the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max).
He believes that the iPhone 16 Ultra will have significant camera and processor improvements over the Pro versions. Furthermore, the 16 Ultra will have a larger screen and, most importantly, no ports (including USB-C or Lightning).
With rounded edges and a thicker profile than other models, the iPhone 16 Ultra may take design cues from the Apple Watch Ultra.
The Ultra model could be Apple’s strategy for raising iPhone prices. The iPhone 16 Ultra is expected to cost even more than the current iPhone 14 Pro Max model, which costs $1,099 USD.
The iPhone Ultra model, according to MacRumors, will be available as early as 2024. Or later in 2025, when it could be known as the iPhone 17 Ultra.
Previously, Gurman predicted that Apple would release the iPhone 15 Ultra rather than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to recent leaks, Apple may keep the product structure until the end of 2023.
Concept iPhone 16 Ultra
Designer Jonas Daenert has shared some pre-release images of the iPhone 16 Ultra, which borrows design elements from the Apple Watch Ultra. The Ultra model, he believes, will be 12mm thicker, with a titanium body, rounded edges, protruding buttons, and orange accents, as shown in the images below:
