If Apple decides to lower the price of a new iPhone, it could be in the following year. The reduced price of the standard iPhone 15 will make it an attractive option for those seeking to upgrade their phone. Android users searching for a new smartphone at a reasonable price will also be enticed by an attractive price point. In addition, the forecast of a challenging year can affect the user’s decision to purchase a new device.
Apple’s decision to price the iPhone 15 lower than the iPhone 14 has an additional effect: all iPhone models sold alongside the iPhone 15 will be discounted.
Due to two factors, Apple’s iPhone 14 series did not sell well. First, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max sold well, but the most recent COVID-19 lockdown in China compelled Apple’s primary supplier to significantly reduce production.
This occurs during the holiday shopping season, preventing millions of consumers from purchasing an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max in time for the holidays.
Another issue with the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus is that they are not selling as well as Apple had anticipated. Apple is considering discounts on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus for this reason.
That seems contrary to what one would expect from a smartphone manufacturer like Apple. In an ideal scenario for consumers, Apple will maintain its current price next year. However, rising production costs may force Apple to increase prices rather than decrease them.
Almost the entire smartphone market, with the exception of Apple, is in trouble. And next year could be even worse. Therefore, a less expensive iPhone 15 would make a great deal of sense. It will put pressure on Android manufacturers, assist Apple in selling more iPhones, and attract more customers to its digital services.
What will occur if the iPhone 15 reduces its price by $100 compared to the iPhone 14 the following year?
Why does the $100 discount on the iPhone 15 excite you so much?
Currently, iPhone 14 Plus begins at $899. An additional $100 discount brings the price of the iPhone 15 Plus to $799. However, this is the cost of the standard iPhone 14. Thus, the least expensive iPhone 15 will cost $699. This would be unexpected for an iPhone 14 Pro variant with fewer features.
The iPhone 14 is essentially a stripped-down version of the iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 15 will adhere to the same design, omitting the rear telephoto lens and 120Hz ProMotion display.
Next year, however, the iPhone 15 will feature a Dynamic Island notch. The iPhone 15 will have a brand-new design, while the iPhone 14 will be identical to the iPhone 13.
The situation is even more favorable if you are the type of iPhone purchaser who purchases older models when newer ones are released. When the iPhone 15 is released, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus will be $100 less expensive at $699 and $799, respectively, compared to their current prices. However, if the iPhone 15’s starting price is $699, Apple may have to reduce the price of its 2022 phones by $200.
This yields an iPhone 14 for $599 and an iPhone 14 Plus for $699. These are reasonable prices. In 2023, mid-range Android smartphones will not offer the same value.
After the release of the iPhone 15, Apple for the iPhone 12 will likely cease operations. In a year, however, the iPhone 13 and 13 mini will be available.
The starting price of the current Mini is $599, while the iPhone 13 costs $699. Here, Apple must offer the same discounts as with the iPhone 14. The iPhone 13 mini can be purchased for as little as $399, while the iPhone 13 can be purchased for $499. There is no $499 Android phone superior to the iPhone.
The fact that the iPhone 15 is less expensive than the iPhone 14 is merely conjecture. Let’s observe what transpires?
