A source from China said that Apple finally ordered BOE to produce iPhone 14 panel.
The source said that BOE’s panels for the upcoming iPhones were certified by Apple last Thursday. BOE plans to begin mass production of this type of display at the end of July. Shipments will be concentrated in September – this is the time when Apple usually launches its new iPhone line.
BOE will produce iPhone 14 panel
BOE’s role in the iPhone 14 supply chain was questioned after Apple discovered that the company arbitrarily changed some design elements of its iPhone 13 panels. This made BOE stand still for a long time. However, they finally received an order to produce panel for iPhone 14.
BOE is expected to supply only 6.1-inch LTPS OLED panels for the iPhone 14. Industry insiders estimate Apple will order 90 million panels for the iPhone 14 series this year, of which 60 million will come from Samsung Display. , 25 million from LG Display and 5 million from BOE.
BOE previously supplied panels for both iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.
