Apple has officially launched the iPad Air 2024, marking the first time the device comes in both 11-inch and 13-inch display options. Both new iPad Air models are powered by the M2 chip and come in four color options: blue, purple, starlight, and space gray. The 11-inch model starts at $599, while the 13-inch model starts at $799. They are now available for purchase on Apple’s website.
The iPad Air M2 features a 12MP rear camera and a 12MP front camera with Center Stage, which is located on the landscape edge of the device. It also supports Apple Pencil Hover, a feature that was previously exclusive to the iPad Pro lineup.
Starting with 128GB of storage for the base model, the new iPad Air offers double the starting storage capacity of the 2022 model. It still retains Touch ID on the power button and stereo speakers at the top and bottom. Both models are compatible with Apple’s existing Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro.
This is the first update to the iPad Air since Apple released the M1 variant two years ago and helps provide a clearer picture of the company’s tablet lineup. Now, if users want a larger iPad display without having to shell out for an iPad Pro, the iPad Air M2 stands as a compelling alternative.
