According to a DigiTimes source, TSMC is ready to begin 3nm chip production at Fab 18. Apple, as TSMC’s largest customer, will undoubtedly benefit from this technology.
This information is also consistent with an earlier leak, which stated that Apple intends to upgrade its next-generation devices with the M2 Pro chip in 2023.
According to rumors, TSMC will hold a ceremony on December 29 at the South Taiwan Science Park to celebrate the start of 3nm chip production and to detail plans to expand 3nm silicon production in general.
As a result, Apple’s 3nm chip will almost certainly be mass-produced soon after.
According to current rumors, Apple is planning to use TSMC‘s 3nm M2 Pro chips in the upcoming MacBook 14 and 16, Mac Studio, and Mac mini. Finally, the A17 Bionic and M3 chips will most likely be based on TSMC’s improved 3nm manufacturing process.
