Only 24 hours left until the iPhone 14 series will reach users. The exterior design has not changed much, but inside there are some important changes. This disassembly video from PBKreviews provides a glimpse of what’s inside the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The good news is that phones are relatively easy to repair, at least for some components. Since this is an American model, there is no card tray for the physical SIM.
There’s a metal plate that keeps the various cables firmly attached to the dual-layer motherboard and also acts as a heatsink. After taking this layer out, one can start disconnecting the display and battery (16.93Wh). As such, replacing the battery and screen is quite easy, although quite expensive.
To separate the camera you must have a certain understanding of some components. One interesting thing that appears in the video is that it looks like the new front camera has OIS (you can see it at the 3:40 mark). Apple has added autofocus to the front camera but didn’t mention image stabilization. In the official specs, Apple only says “Auto Image Stabilization”.
And of course there are many more interesting details inside the iPhone 14 Pro Max, let’s explore through the video.
