Replacing iPad Air 5 battery – Apple unveiled the fifth-generation iPad Air last month (iPad Air 5). The M1 chip, 5G compatibility, an updated front-facing camera with Center Stage support, and a 2x quicker USB-C connector for data transfers are among the new features.
In addition, Apple made one internal update to the device. This will undoubtedly be welcomed by proponents of gadget repair.
Replacing iPad Air 5 battery easily with Pull Tabs
The new iPad Air’s battery cells, according to iFixit, include flexible pull bars on the underside for simpler removal. Previous generations of iPad batteries were stuck together using glue, making it impossible to remove them. To release huge volumes of glue, technicians frequently use solvents like isopropyl alcohol.
Third-party repair businesses will find it easier to replace batteries with “pull tabs.” This feature is also environmentally friendly because it makes it easier for Apple’s recycling partners to remove the battery from the iPad’s aluminum casing.
The “Pull tabs” feature has been extended to more Apple products, including the sixth-generation iPad mini and the latest MacBook Pro 14- and 16-inch models. However, a previous iFixit discovered that the iPad mini’s battery was still glued down along the top and bottom edges, indicating that the design wasn’t completely repairable. It’s unclear if the battery in the new iPad Air is still glued in some way.
