“Today, VinFast announced that it will establish an electric vehicle and battery plant in North Carolina — a $4 billion factory, producing 7,000 jobs,” wrote @POTUS, the US president’s official Twitter account. This is the most recent proof that our economic policy is succeeding.”
This material was also made available on the White House’s official website. Americans feel that VinFast’s $ 4 billion facility, together with past efforts by Ford, GM, and Siemens to reinvest in the US, demonstrates President Joe Biden’s economic policy. Clean energy, re-building US supply chains, and lowering costs for the American people are all priorities.
“It is an honor and joy to attend the closing ceremony between VinFast and Carolina today,” said Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vietnam’s ambassador to the United States, on Twitter. Thousands of VinFast electric car types will be built, resulting in thousands of jobs and contributing to the greening of our planet.
The VinFast facility is located in the 800-hectare Triangle Innovation Point industrial complex in Chatham County. This project will focus on three primary areas: electric vehicle production and assembly, battery manufacture for electric vehicle products, and ancillary industries for suppliers.
According to VinFast, Phase 1 of the factory will begin construction in 2022 after acquiring a building permission and will be completed in July 2024. The facility will be able to produce 150,000 vehicles per year after this phase is done.
Mr. Roy Cooper, Governor of North Carolina, stated: “North Carolina is quickly establishing itself as a leader in the clean energy industry. Many good local employment will be created as a result of VinFast’s large-scale initiative, as well as a cleaner environment as more and more electric vehicles come on the roads, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
Vice President of Vingroup and General Director of VinFast Global, Le Thi Thu Thuy, shared: “North Carolina’s strong commitments to clean energy development, climate change mitigation, and transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions make it an ideal location for VinFast to develop high-end, smart, and environmentally friendly electric vehicle products. stabilizing prices and reducing product delivery times, making VinFast’s electric vehicles more accessible to customers, and assisting in the achievement of local environmental goals.”
The production facility near the market, according to VinFast Global General Director, will enable VinFast to provide proactive supply, stabilize prices, and reduce product delivery time. Since then, VinFast’s electric vehicles have grown more widely available, assisting in the achievement of municipal environmental goals.
VinFast affirms its development strategy and serious investment in the international market in general, and the US in particular, through the initiative to build a plant in the United States, while ensuring its capacity and production autonomy plan exported over the world.
