Apple is claimed to have been working on augmented reality glasses and virtual reality for the past two years. Although this product has not yet been published, the operating system for it appears to be nearing completion.
RealityOS was discovered in the GitHub source code repository and the App Store upload log by the developers.
On his own Twitter feed, Yaroslav Gavrilov recently uploaded an image of the source code including details regarding realityOS. He wondered aloud, “What is Apple’s realityOS doing in the App Store upload log?” And he believes that this information also proves that Apple is working on Apple AR/VR glass.
Bloomberg previously reported an Apple-developed platform for virtual reality devices. This operating system is known as rOS, and it is based on iOS. RealityOS-related material can also be found in the source code of iOS 13.
Apple is expected to unveil its first augmented reality gadget this year, according to analyst Ming-chi Kuo, with the same computer capacity as the Mac M1. Because this is a stand-alone gadget, Apple should design its own operating system for it.
