Apple typically omits battery capacity from product descriptions. Typically, they measure the total number of hours the item can operate after a single charge.
Thankfully, the certification body continues to disclose true mAh figures for all items in their database. A few days earlier, China’s 3C agency revealed the battery capacity of Apple Watch Series 8 and all Apple Watch models unveiled at the company’s event.
Battery capacity of Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch SE 2022
At 245mAh, the Apple Watch SE 2022 (40mm) has the smallest battery of the recently introduced watches. The Watch SE 44mm has a maximum capacity of 296mAh. The smaller Apple Watch Series 8 (41mm) has a 282mAh battery, but the larger Apple Watch Series 8 (45mm) has a 308mAh battery.
Apple Watch Series 8 has a battery life of 18 hours, a display that is constantly on, automatic activity monitoring, and drop detection. In power-saving mode, you can disable some functionalities to double the battery life to 36 hours.
The Apple Watch Ultra‘s 542mAh battery capacity is the highest of any Apple Watch to date. Apple claims that the Watch Ultra with its always-on display, automated workouts, and continual heart rate can last up to 36 hours with normal use. Apple is also introducing a low-power mode that will be released later this year to extend the Ultra’s battery life to 60 hours.
