AirPods 3 orders 30% off

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that AirPods 3 orders are now down 30%.

After months of rumors, Apple finally revealed the redesigned AirPods 3 in October of last year. It may appear to be a commercial success, but this does not appear to be the case.

AirPods 3 orders

AirPods 3 is a device that failed in Apple’s strategy, according to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to reports, demand for them is “far weaker” than for AirPods 2. As a result, Apple’s AirPods 3 orders from its suppliers are claimed to have decreased by more than 30% in the second and third quarters of this year (from April to September).

To prevent “repeating the same error,” Apple can apparently stop making the first AirPods Pro as soon as the AirPods Pro 2 is due to appear (around the second part of this year). After the release of AirPods 3, AirPods 2 remained on the market and are still available today. They are also less expensive, ranging from $50 to $129 versus $179. The AirPods 3 are priced in the middle. This puts the AirPods 3 in the center of the pack: it’s expensive, but it lacks the “in-ear fit” and active noise cancelling characteristics of the AirPods 2.

As a result, professional users will choose the Airpods Pro. Meanwhile, those who choose a low-cost option will opt for AirPods 2, while AirPods 3 will be overlooked.
